Sign up begins at 8:00 p.m. and the first performer is on shortly after 8:30 p.m. Come early for sign-up as it gets quite busy. Set-times are generally 15 minutes (2 - 3 songs with changeover), but we can arrange longer, featured and promoted sets in advance. 

Whether you're a solo musician, jammer, rock a suessaphone, accordian, flute, beatbox or dance, all are welcome!

The Shigeyama Kyogen troupe bills itself as “Otofu Kyogen,” as tofu is something that can be enjoyed by everyone at any time, never gets boring and is always tasteful. They are on their way to Markham to to treat you to Japan's traditions and laughter.

The Longevity Stack:
The Master of the house, seizing his opportunity when his terrifying Wife is away visiting her family, has Taro Kaja deliver divorce papers to her. The Wife, of course, returns in a furious rage, but the Master is too proud to change his mind despite his wife’s anger. The Wife then brings a large sack to take her share of their belongings. The Master says that, if she grants him the divorce, she can take whatever she wants. The Wife is overjoyed and starts looking for things to stuff into the sack, but can you guess the last item she puts in it?

This work is a masterpiece that invites the audience to laugh at the subtleties of love between husband and wife.

The New York Times has released their list of 100 "notable books" of 2019.

Two Canadian titles made the list: the novels The Testaments by Margaret Atwood and Women Talking by Miriam Toews.

The Testaments is a sequel to Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. It broke Canadian sales records after it was published in Sept. 2019. It also was a co-winner of this year's Booker Prize.
